Hodges, 69, retired employee of the U. S. Forest Service, died in a Winnfield hospital June 21, 1966, after a long illness. He was a native and a resident of the Yankee Springs community, and a member of the Yankee Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at the Yankee Springs Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, with the pastor, Rev. D. W. McDaniel, officiating. Assisting were Rev. W. L. Fussell and Rev. R. F. Hancock. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were Eyvonne Weeks, Willie Glynn Emmett, D. C. Carpenter, Leon Carpenter, Glynn Griffin, and Adolph Griffin. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Hodges; one daughter, Mrs. Louis Webb, both of Rt. 1, Goldonna; two brothers, Zack Hodges, Calvin, and Wise Hodges, Goldonna; five sisters, Mrs. Pearl Powell of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Gertrude Rudd of Tannehill, Mrs. Mattie Carpenter of Calvin, Mrs. Maggie Cockerham of Dodson, and Mrs. Mollie Carpenter of Goldonna; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
