Last Rites For George Holder Held Sunday

Funeral services for George Holder, 62, of Dodson, were held at Zion Hill
Baptist Church, Sunday, September 28, with the Rev. Leon Ivy, Rev. Lawrence,
and Rev. Alwin Stokes, officiating.  Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Holder died of a stroke of paralysis in the hospital at Pineville
September 27.  He was born in Bienville Parish Dec. 18, 1884, and at an early
age moved to the Tannehill Community where he lived until three years ago. 
Since that time he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. J. T. Miller of
Dodson.  He was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his sister, Mrs. J. T. Miller, Dodson; his stepmother, Mrs. H.
S. Holder, Dodson; and the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Poley Roberts,
Chatham; Clovice Miller, Hawthorne, Calif.; Hilton Miller, N. Redondo Beach,
Calif.; Helen Miller, a WAC in Germany; J. H. Miller, Muscatine, Iowa; Murlene
Miller, Winnfield; Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Miller, Muscatine, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Loyce Jordan, Clarence Jordan, Alon Shirley, Roy James, Jesse
Brewer, Howard Boyett.
