Holland Succumbs at His Home in Atlanta Following several years of ill health, C. O. Holland, 71, died Thursday, March 23, at his home in Atlanta. Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Atlanta Methodist Church with the Rev. Tillman Brown officiating. Assisting was Rev. Roy Collum. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were K. A. Thomas, Edd Bufkins, Mapp Smith, Rev. J. L. Smith, Floyd Smith, Elmo Smith, and Ray Owens. Mr. Holland was born in Grant Parish but moved to Winn while a young man. He married Miss Lola Smith and to this union three children were born. He followed the trade of blacksmith until his health required that he retired. Mr. Holland was a true Christian and was a member of and active in the Atlanta Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Otis Holland, Castor, La.; Mrs. A. B. Johnson, Baton Rouge; Mrs. J. T. Shaw and Miss Effie Holland, Atlanta; three grandchildren: Patricia Ann Holland, Carolyn Lynne Johnson, and Mary Beth Shaw; three sisters: Mrs. R. M. Ferguson, Blanchard, La.; Mrs. Nettie Owens, Lena Station; and Mrs. Minnie Willett, Newton, Texas.
