Holmes. Dr. Jack Payne officiated at the First Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas, with interment at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington. Holmes, 54, was a longtime resident of Arlington and resided at 813 Scott Drive. He passed away Monday morning after a lengthy illness. A native of Winnfield, he was married to the former Cassie Faye Booth. He was an employee of Texas & Pacific Motor Transport for more than 20 years and had received recognition for 20 years of safe driving. He had served as job steward for Local 47, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, and Warehousemen for several years. He was also a graduate of the Advanced Trades School for Electrical and Repair Service. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and had served as president of the Builders Sunday School Class. The O. P. Holmes Memorial Fund has been established at the First Methodist Church, Arlington, Texas, in his honor. Survivors include his wife, Cassie Faye; a son, Morris W. Holmes of Big Spring, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Donald D. Campbell of Arlington; two grandsons, Michael and Martin Holmes of Big Spring. Brothers include Joe B. Holmes of Winnfield, O. W. Holmes of Alexandria, and Luther E. Holmes of Shreveport. Sisters include Mrs. Francis Wheeler of Winnfield, Mrs. J. R. "Doc" Payne of Winnfield, Mrs. G. D. Babin of Jonesville, La., and Mrs. B. T. Kelly of Bossier City, La. Also surviving is a nephew who was reared with the family, Edgar R. Brown of Shreveport.
