All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 20, 1970 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Hollingsworth Funeral Rites Held August 5 Sunday, August 2, 1970, Wiley Hollingsworth of Dodson passed to his Eternal reward at Wyatt Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. He was born August 31, 1890, the son of Gabriel and Millie Hollingsworth and had lived in the Dodson area most of his life. He served his country during the first World War and was employed by the Rock Island Railroad. He also engaged in farming. He became a member of the Pleasant Grove C. M. E. Church at an early age and was still a member at his passing. He was a good member of his community and a good and faithful worker. He was married to the former Pearl Jordan who survives him. Other survivors are his sons, Clyde Hollingsworth of Dodson, Bennie Hollingsworth and Juanita Brinson of Winnfield, and Mrs. Oneter Powell of Dodson, seventeen grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Carrie Bradford and one brother, James R. "Man" Hollingsworth and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jerry Powell, Floyd Powell, Jr., Bobby Powell, David Hollingsworth, Vincent Ray Hollingsworth, Larry Jones, all of Dodson. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 5, 1970, and burial was in the church cemetery. Winnfield Funeral Home was in charge.
