L. Hooper, Former Resident, Dies in Texas Mrs. J. L. Hooper, 86, passed away at her home in Paris, Texas, Sunday, Jan. 11, following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home of Paris. Rev. R. A. Partlow was the officiating minister. Interment was in the Minter Cemetery, Minter, Texas. The deceased was a native of Georgia, where she was born Sept. 22, 1866. Her husband preceded her in death in 1929. The family were former residents of Winnfield and a daughter, Mrs. C. L. Smith, resides at 1007 Center Street. The late C. R. Wood of Winnfield was a brother. Her sister in law, Mrs. C. R. Wood, and daughters, Ruth and Janie, nieces, and Manton Wood, nephew, reside in Winnfield. Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ollie Skelton, Miss Amanda Hooper of Paris, Texas; Mrs. J. W. Shipp, Texarkana, and Mrs. C. L. Smith.
