Horne, 89, Retired Farmer, Atlanta, Succumbs James Robert "Jim Bob" Horne, 89 year old retired farmer of Atlanta, died October 27 at the home of his son, R. R. Horne, in Winnfield. The deceased was visiting his son in Winnfield and was planning to celebrate with Mrs. Horne their 58th wedding anniversary October 27. During his visit to Winnfield he contracted pneumonia which resulted in his death the day of his wedding anniversary. Born March 31, 1856 in Clayton County, Ala., the deceased came to Louisiana in 1859 and settled in the Atlanta community. He married Miss Joanna Hilborn of Atlanta October 27, 1877 and Rev. S. M. Barr performed the ceremony which was witnessed by W. T. Teddlie and J. M. Till of Atlanta. A member of the Parish Police Jury from Ward Six from 1906 until 1914 and a member of the Methodist Church of Atlanta, the deceased was active in community affairs and was a leading farmer in his community before his retirement. He is survived by his wife; three sons, R. R. Horne of Winnfield, Ralph Horne of Georgetown, and Earl Horne of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Guin of Winnfield, Jo Francis and Connie Horne of Georgetown, and Marvin and Bobby Wayne Horne of Atlanta. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 4 p.m. at the Atlanta Methodist Church by Rev. Alwin Stokes. Pallbearers were Robert Daniel Guin, Clyde E. Sherwood, B. F. Billings, H. E. Carrier of Goodpine, James Lovell Long, Jr., of Jonesboro, and Rayford Bonnette, Sr. Honorary pallbearers were M. F. Collier, J. P. Gresham, Andrew martin, Clinton Taylor, H. A. Gresham, Roy F. Miller, C. H. Ferguson, Gus Ferguson, of Atlanta, Cicero Wilson and Dalton Wilson and Dalton Wilson of Alexandria. Interment followed the services in the Atlanta Cemetery.
