Last Rites For John House To Be Held Friday

Last rites for John House, 74, retired towerman of Winona Tower, who died in a
Winnfield hospital of a heart attack at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, October 3, will be
held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the New Hope Methodist Church.  Burial will follow
in the church cemetery under directio of Southern Funeral Home.

Officiating will be Rev. Virgil Taylor, Rev. Grafton Shaw, and Rev. Willie
James.

A native of Vernon Parish, Mr. House had spent most of his lifetime in Winn
Parish.  He was a resident of the Hudson Community.

Mr. House is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Carpenter House; five sons, O. O.
of Winnfield, Hardy of Tyler, Texas, Meardy of Houston, Texas, O. C. and Ed of
Minden; one daughter, Miss Ruth House of Winnfield.

He also leaves one brother, E. J. House, of Fisher, La., and one sister, Mrs.
Mattie Dyson of Montgomery.
