Mrs. J. E. Howard Of Five Forks Dies Here January 29

Mrs. Loretta Howard, 77, native of Sicily Island, died in a local hospital at
4:30 a.m. January 29.  She had been a resident of the Five Forks Community for
many years and was a member of the Five Forks Baptist Church.

Last Rites were conducted at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m.
Tuesday with the Rev. W. C. Bounds, Rev. Albert Nugent, and Rev. C. R.
Weatherford officiating.  Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, J. E. Howard, Winnfield; seven daughters, Mrs. 
Mary Kelly, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Lena Watson, Gainesville, Fla., Mrs. Myrtle
Stringer, Siciliy Island, Mrs. Lillie Mae Cook, Houston, Mrs. Addie Bowman,
Baton Rouge, Mrs. Hazel Shelton, Winnfield, Mrs. Loyce Wyatt, Houston; one
son, J. E. Howard, Jr., preceded her in death.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
