Former Winn Resident Dies In Pineville

Howell D. Hassell, 94, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 1973, at his
residence in Pineville after a short illness.

He was a native of Miller, Ark., and a retired rural mail carrier formerly
of Winnfield and Winnsboro.  He was a member of Hope Baptist Church,
Alexandria.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Veryl M. Hassell of Pineville; three sons,
Otice Hassell, Winnsboro, Therell Hassell, Baton Rouge, and Job B. Hassell,
Pineville; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Southern Funeral Home Chapel
at Winnfield with Rev. Max Lee, Rev. Dan Chellette, and Jerry Green
officiating.

Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery near Winnfield under direction of
Southern Funeral Home.
