Mrs. A. Howell Dies After Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Audie C. Howell, 71, of Winnfield died at 11 p.m. Sunday, September 27,
in a Winnfield hospital following a long illness.  She was a member of the
First Baptist Church and a native of Winn Parish.

Survivors include three sons Terry Hughes of Baton Rouge, Clifford Hughes of
Tannehill, and Arie Hughes of Winnfield; two brothers, Odis Boyett of Bentley
and L. W. Boyett of Burbank, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Joe B. Holmes of
Winnfield and Mrs. Issac Nolley of Fort Worth, Tex., six grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Zion Hill Baptist Church with the
Rev. Thomas W. Cox and J. C. Skinner officiating.  Burial was in the church
cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Pallbearers included Laurie Mercer, Bud Roberts, Denver Fox, Cotton Long,
Carroll Hicks, and Russell Grantadams.
