N. Howell Sunday Funeral Services Were Held At Williana Monday Afternoon Robert Neely Howell, 40 years of age, died at his home in Winnfield Sunday morning following more than a week's illness with pneumonia. Funeral services were conducted Monday at Williana with the Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of Winnfield Baptist Church in charge. He was assisted by the Rev. L. C. Hasting, pastor of First Baptist Church of Monroe. Last rites were conducted by the Masonic Lodge of which the deceased was a member. Mr. Howell had resided in Winnfield for a year and six months. Eight months ago he was married to Mrs. F. R. Hughes, daughter of Rev. Jasper Boyett. He was a member of the Winnfield Baptist Church and was employed by the state highway department. Surviving are his widow, two children by a former marriage, Iva Lee and Elon Howell, three stepsons, Arie, Clifford, and Terry Hughes; his mother, Mrs. Howell of Packton; seven sisters, Mrs. Roy Long of Winnfield, Mrs. Ivy Melton, Mrs. Walker Melton, Mrs. W. A. Warren, of Packton, Mrs. Julius Sweat of Georgetown, Mrs. Bird Stell and Mrs. Grace Resenblath of Shreveport; and five brothers, DeLeon and DeSoto Howell of Winnfield, Grady Howell of Cotton Valley, Finley Howell of Henderson, Texas, and Huey Howell of New Orleans.
