Denton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Harper and was born and reared in Winnfield, graduating from the local high school in 1922, and afterwards attending a business college in Kentucky. Denton returned to Winnfield several months ago and had recently accepted a position in Shreveport. He was the guest of his parents during the Christmas holidays and his death came as a great shock to his many friends. The body was brought to Winnfield Wednesday night. Funeral services were held at the family residence at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Harper, one brother, Blanchard Harper, Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Bradford, Mena, Ark.; and Mrs. E. E. Harkrider, Greenwood, La.
