Huffman Dies At His Home Here Friday, October 17 Following an illness of several months, J. N. Huffman died at his home here last Friday about noon. Funeral services were held at the residence Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. H. B. Hysell, pastor of the First Methodist Church, with interment following in the Winnfield Cemetery. The deceased was born near Dubach, in Union Parish, March 15, 1849. He came to Winnfield in 1901 soon after the first railroad was here. He became active in the business affairs of the community and became engaged in the mercantile business and real estate business and at the time of his death owned valuable properties here and at El Dorado, Ark. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ava Crutchfield, Mrs. O. M. Hawk, of El Dorado, Ark., Mrs. A. R. Lindsey, Winnfield, Mrs. Cy Thompson, Monroe, and Mrs. Joe Heard, Hope, Ark. His wife and only son preceded him in death.
