Final Rites For G. W. Hughes Held Monday

Funeral rites for George W. Hughes, 73, of Montgomery, were held at 3 p.m.
Monday in the First Baptist Church of Montgomery with the Rev. S. J. Sylvest
officiating.  Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Mr. Hughes was a native of Mississippi and a member of the Baptist Church.

He leaves his wife; two sons, Charles H. Hughes of Gulfport, Miss., and Vernon
W. Hughes of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. George Barnhill of
Montgomery; five brothers, Bill, Clifton, and Pete Hughes, all of Lake
Providence, Jesse Hughes of Mize, Miss., and George L. Hughes of Bastrop; nine
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
