Hardy Hughes Buried Wednesday At Gansville Clarence Hardy Hughes, 63 years, 29 days of age, died in a Texarkana hospital January 2, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday in the Siloam Baptist Church, Gansville, with burial in the Gansville Cemetery. The Rev. Cory, pastor of the Siloam Church, conducted the last rites. A native of Dodson, Mr. Hughes was the son of the late R. E. and Epsie Wasson Hughes. He moved from the Dodson community when a young man and for the past 26 years has been associated with the Ohio Oil Company and has made his home in Stephens, Ark. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Mrs. Nell R. Medellin of Calonia Narvorte, Mexico; Wesley Hughes of Lathrope, Calif., and Harold Loyd Hughes of Texarkana. He also leaves six brothers, R. W. of Dodson, A. B. of Montgomery, H. F. of Bastrop, S. B. and E. J. of Shreveport, and Rev. O. L. Hughes of Pineville; and one sister, Mrs. R. O. Pace of Rochelle. Acting as pallbearers were fellow employees of the Ohio Oil Company. They were F. C. Stead, W. N. Haire, Frank Jenkins, Harry Boyer, W. L. Caruth, and C. B. Parker, all of Stephens, Ark. A large number of people from Arkansas, including the officials and employees of the Ohio Oil Company attended the last rites.
