W. Hughes Will Be Held Thursday Last rites for R. W. Hughes, 72, outstanding farmer and stock raiser of Dodson, who died in a Shreveport hospital Wednesday morning, 9:45, after a three month illness, will be held at the Dodson Baptist Church, Thursday, March 29, at 3 p.m. Rev. James Horton of Monroe and Rev. Clyde Averette of Dodson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be E. F. Broomfield, Clayton Norred, Clayton Underwood, H. A. Cogley, Leo Sowers, and Don Barron. Mr. Hughes spent his entire life in the same community and was condisdered one of Winn's most progressive farmers. He was a member of the Dodson Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Price Hughes, Dodson; two sons, J. B. of Springhill and Bill of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Dickerson of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Frank Barron of Farmerville. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. R. Pace of Rochelle, La., and five brothers, Silas and Ernest Hughes of Shreveport; Rev. Otto Hughes of Pineville; Ben Hughes of Montgomery, and Frank Hughes of Bastrop; and 13 grandchildren.
