Hunt, Former Local Resident, Dies In St. Louis One of Organizers First Presbyterian Church In Winnfield John S. Hunt, former resident of Winnfield and well known lumberman of Louisiana, died in St. Louis, Mo., Wednesday. Funeral services were announced to be held at Arkadelphia, Ark., his boyhood home, this afternoon. Mr. Hunt came to Louisiana from Arkansas when a young man and engaged in the lumber business. He was associated with O. E. Hodge in business and they operated the Sulphur Timber & Lumber Company in Winnfield for a number of years. Later they moved to Hodge where they operated the Hodge-Hunt Lumber Company until they sold their interest to the Southern Advance Bag & Paper Company. While making his family residence here he and his late wife were instrumental in organizing the First Presbyterian Church for which he donated the site. Surviving him are two sons, Stewart Hunt and Alex Hunt, both residents of Ruston, who are engaged in the timber business.
