Mrs. Martha Stewart Hunt, 54 years old, wife of John S. Hunt, prominent lumberman of Hodge, died Sunday night at her home in Shreveport. She and Mr. Hunt had moved to Shreveport only two weeks ago. The body was sent to Arkadelphia, Ar,., were funeral services were held Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Hunt were formerly residents of Winnfield for seventeen years. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Stewart S. Hunt, of Ruston, and Alex T. Hunt, of Hodge; two brothers, Frank C. Stewart of Hodge, and Will A. Stewart of Arkadelphia, and three grandchildren. Rev. Alwin Stokes went to Arkadelphia to hold the funeral services. He was accompanied by R. S. Walsh.
