J. W. Hughes Died Friday Night

John William Hughes, aged 59 years, of Wheeling, La., died in Alexandria
Friday night after being carried there for medical attention.  He has been a
merchant in Wheeling community near Montgomery for a number of years.  He was
also registrar of Winn Parish.

The funeral took place at the Mt. Zion Cemetery Sunday at 10 o'clock.  It was
attended by many friends and relatives of Winnfield and community.

He is survived by his wife and 7 children, Mrs. W. H. Jones of Verda; S. A.
McMoore, Montgomery; Earl Hughes, Winnfield; Herschel Hughes, Montgomery;
Lucille Hughes, Montgomery; Mrs. J. J. Boyett, Rochelle; and J. W. Hughes,
Jr., Montgomery.
