All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 17, 1944 Winn Parish Enterprise Brent Wood Hyde Interment Held Here Wednesday Funeral services were held for Brent Wood Hyde, 46 years of age, Monday at the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield following his death at his home in Monroe Saturday, February 15. Burial was postponed until Wednesday afternoon to await arrival of his son, who is serving in the armed forces. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. The Winnfield pastors, Rev. Alwin Stokes, Rev. H. H. McBride, and Rev. Harvey B. Hysell, conducted the services. Mr. Hyde was born and reared near Winnfield but later moved to Monroe where he resided until his death. He was one of nine sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. N. M. Hyde. Two brothers and one sister preceding him in death were H. H. Hyde, A. L. Hyde, and Mrs. L. D. Wardlow of Montgomery. Surviving are one son, Cpl. B. W. Hyde of the armed forces; one sister, Mrs. W. C. Colvin of Winnfield; six brothers, E. Q. Hyde of Monroe, W. F. Hyde of Shreveport, R. C. Hyde of Winnfield, O. E. Hyde of Baton Rouge, C. M. Hyde of Germantown, Tenn., and C. L. Hyde of Pineville. Pallbearers were: acting: Spec LaCroix, Leo Sowers, Clint Hamm, James Beville, R. D. Skains, and ?. P. Long. Honorary: W. O. Averette, Shirley Jackson, and James Watts. Out of town members of the family attending the rites, other than immediate survivors, were Mrs. E. W. Hyde of Monroe, Mrs. O. E. Hyde of Baton Rouge, Mrs. C. L. Hyde of Pineville, Mrs. Ralph Feazell of Ruston, Mr. and mrs. H. A. Finn of Shreveport, and Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Clinton of Shreveport.
