Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 Wilson Stovall, 10 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Stovall, accidentally shot Otis Harper, negro man, age 50 years. Harper had come to Dodson from some of the flooded areas and was employed as a farm hand on Mr. Stovall's farm. According to reports, the Stovall youth was playing with a single-barrel shotgun, which, in some manner was accidentally discharged, the shot having entered the colored man's stomach. The negro was treated by a physician in Winnfield who decided best to convey him to a Shreveport sanitarium for further treatment. The negro, however, died at Jamestown, en route to Shreveport, the body being brought back to Dodson where it was buried Sunday afternoon.
