E. Holland, 62, Succumbs; Rites Held Sunday Robert Elvis Holland, 62, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 8, 1967 in a Winnfield hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Chestnut, La. and had been employed at Carey Salt mine for many years, but at the time of his death, he was employed by the Louisiana Department of Highways. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield with Rev. C. C. Martin and Rev. Glen Griffin officiating. Burial was in the Garden of Memories under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors are his widow; step mother, Mrs. Lea Holland of Chestnut; three sons, Robert E. Holland, Jr., and Samuel R. Holland, both of Winnfield and Roy T. Holland of Gretna; five brothers, Orange Holland and Harold Holland, both of Chestnut, Casey Holland of Ashland, and Henry Holland of Shreveport (only four brothers listed); two sisters, Mrs. Margie Pattereau of Shreveport and Mrs. Clint Walker of Clarence; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jessie Austin, Jewell Nugent, Woodrow Adams, Leonard Stewart, Tritos Ferguson, and Brian Hatten.
