Irvin, Winn Native, Is Buried At Sardis Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday at the Sardis Baptist Church for James Martin Irvin, 83, of Winnfield. The Revs. Roy Moore and E. B. Barton officiated with burial in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Irvin died Wednesday, December 20, 1972 in a local hospital after a long illness. A Winn parish native, he was a retired sawmill owner, a member of the Sardis Baptist Church, and a Mason. Survivors include one son, William L. Irvin of Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Mae I. Parker of Winnfield, Mrs. Elsie Kairath of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Marcelle Collins of Winnfield, and Mrs. Jeannett Ferguson of Pineville; one sister, Mrs. Ora Collins of Gilbert; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
