W. Irvin, 80 Years Succumbs To Long Illness Mrs. G. W. Irvin, 80 years of age, died at the home of her son, Martin Irvin, in Atlanta Monday, April 26th, 1937, after a long illness. She had been a resident of the Atlanta Community for about twenty-five years and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Last rites were held at the Sardis Church Tuesday with the Rev. Will Sherwood and Rev. Keyes officiating. Edmonds Funeral Home was in charge. Surviving the deceased are three sons and three daughters, Will Irvin, Jonesboro; Martin and Pierce Irvin, Atlanta; Mrs. Ola Collins, Franklin Parish; Mrs. Frances Ray and Mrs. Mattie Philan of Atlanta. A number of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
