Austin Jones, 63, Succumbs; Rites Held Thur.

Funeral services for Charles Austin Jones, 63, of Route 2, Dodson, were held
Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Cypress Creek Baptist Church.

The Rev. Louis B. Williams and Rev. Billy Smithart officiated with burial in
the Cypress Creek Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of
Winnfield.

Mr. Jones died Wednesday, April 18, 1973 at Jackson Parish Hospital in
Jonesboro.

He was a Winn Parish native and was employed by the U. S. Soil Conservation
Service, was chairman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation
Department and was employed in these capacities for approximately 38 years. He
was a member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Austin Jones of Dodson; a son, Charles Jones
of Dodson; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Browning of Dodson, and seven grandchildren.

Acting as pallbearers were Cecil Taylor, Durwood Jones, Olan Jones, H. L.
Caskey, Jr., Cecil Caskey, and Mr. Bonner.
