Last Rites For Doris Jenkins Held Sunday

Doris Marie Jenkins, five year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jenkins
of the Gaars Mill community, died at the Huey P. Long hospital, Pineville,
Saturday, June 4, 1949, after a week's illness. Infection in a hard growth
in her foot developed into lock-jaw which caused her death, it was
reported.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday at the Harmony Grove
Baptist Church with the Rev. H.H. McBride, Rev. Wayne Barton and Rev. John
Reno officiating. Burial was in the Harmony Grove cemetery.

Surviving besides the parents are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
J.A. Kelly, of Gaars Mill.
