All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: April 8, 1965 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Last Rites For Ervin Jordan Held March 7 Ervin Jordan, 75, of Jordan Hill died in a Urania clinic, Monday night, April 5, at 11 p.m. A life long resident of the Jordan Hill Community, Mr. Jordan was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church and had been a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge for 40 years. He served as police jury member from Ward 9 for 12 years. Funeral services were held at the Big Creek Baptist Church, April 7, with Rev. Hardy Beaubouef, pastor of the church, and Rev. Willis Russell, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Graveside rites were held by Georgetown Masonic Lodge. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe McCartney, Olla, and Mrs. Chastine Wilder, Jordan Hill; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Renee Maxey, Mrs. Florence Rosier, of Jordan Hill, and Mrs. Julia Boyett of Springhill; three brothers, Lawrence, Joe, and Lonnie Jordan of Jordan Hill. Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Jordan, who are Bill Maxey, Grady Smith, Butler Jordan, Clayton Jordan, Harvey Jordan, and Eugene Rosier.
