All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 10, 1976 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Shirley Jackson, Pharmacist, Dies Nov. 8 Shirley Glen Jackson, 72, of Winnfield, died Monday, November 8, 1976 at 5 p.m. in St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a lengthy illness. Mr. Jackson was a pharmacist in Winnfield for 43 years beginning in 1925. He was the oldest male member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of its board of trustees. He was also a member of the Crusaders for Christ Sunday School class. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marion Jackson of Winnfield; one son, John G. Jackson of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Jane Shell of Winnfield and Mrs. Marilyn Ross Shaw of Metairie; one brother, A. D. Jackson of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Herbert C. Smith of Houston, and Mrs. M. T. Crowe and Mrs. H. L. DeBray, both of Winnfield; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church here with Rev. Eskel Tatum officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert Gage and Rev. Calvin Phelps. Burial was in the Winnfield City Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. The family asks memorials be sent to favorite charities or churches. Pallbearers were Trey Brewton, Sidney Walton, Mike Spangler, Victor Morris, Rev. Stone Caraway, John Robert Shaw, Delane Adams, Franklin Glen Shaw.
