John Early Jackson, 82, retired store owner of Hargis Community, died Tuesday, January 17, 1967 in a Natchitoches hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Winn Parish and a member of the Hargis Baptist Church. Funeral rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hargis Baptist Church with Rev. Crawford Green and Rev. Don Shehorn in charge. Interment, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, was in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Johnny Jackson of Montgomery; three daughters, Mrs. Huey Hatten, Booneville, Miss., Mrs. Gary Fletcher, Montgomery, and Mrs. Henry Weaver, Natchitoches; one brother, J. A. Jackson, Montgomery; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, Robert Weaver, Donald and Robert Fletcher, Robert Ryals, Bob Adams, James Young, and William Cook.
