All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: January 22, 1926 Winnfield News-American David Jackson Dead David Jackson, 47 years old of Dodson, died in Hot Springs, Ark., last Thursday morning following an illness of several years of tropical rheumatism, which, it is said, he contracted while in the Philippine Islands during the Spanish-American War. Mr. Jackson was born in DeSoto Parish near Benson where he lived until about four years ago when he moved his family to Dodson. He was a farmer and due to ill health has had to be away from home for the past sixteen months. He is survived by his wife and three children, Charlie, Marie, and Harry, all of whom live at Dodson; two brothers, Byron Jackson of Winnfield, Ben Jackson of Wyatt; one sister, Mrs. M. D. Morgan of Winnfield. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. M. Caraway at the home of Mrs. M. D. Morgan here Saturday morning at ten o'clock followed with interment in the Winnfield cemetery.
