Last Rites For Mrs. Matt Jackson Held At Mars Hill

Last rites for Mrs. Nettie McLean Jackson, widow of the late Matt Jackson of
Hargis, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hargis Baptist Church with burial
following at Mars Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Jackson, in her 80s, had made her home
in Laurel Heights community for about 10 years or more until several months
ago when she went to reside in a nursing home at Columbia.

Rev. C. C. Martin, pastor of Laurel Heights Baptist Church, officiated at the
last rites.

Surviving are one son, Johnny Jackson of Monroe; and one daughter, Mrs.
Florence Mitchell of Little Rock, Ark.; three brothers, Clarence McLean,
Shreveport; R. S. "Bob" McLean, Homer; and L. L. McLean, Campti; two sisters,
Mrs. L. A. Perot, Campti, and Mrs. Lucille Vercher, Los Cruces, New Mexico.
