M. Jackson, 98, Succumbs Here Late Tuesday Nite Native of Georgia Was Winn Resident For 92 Years Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Jackson, 98, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Martin, here at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. Services were held at the Sanders Chapel Church with the Rev. F. M. York, pastor of the Calvin Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Reverends H. H. McBride, Alwin Stokes, and H. J. Mott of Winnfield, and interment was in the Sanders Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Born in Georgia on Dec. 29, 1850, Mrs. Jackson moved to Winn Parish when she was six years of age and resided here since that time. She was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include five daughters, Miss Prentice Jackson of Winnfield, Mrs. J. H. Martin of Winnfield, Mrs. J. W. McClain of Winnfield. Mrs. Ella Drummond of Hodge, and Mrs. Joun Kirkham of Dodson; a son, S. C. Jackson of Winnfield; and 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. M. Jackson, who passed away in 1928. Pallbearers, all grandsons, of the deceased, were J. C. Jackson, Edmond Jackson, Charlie Lowe, Goodrich Kirkham, Dalton Martin, and Mack Jackson.
