D. Jacobs Succumbs; Burial Tuesday, July 13 Mrs. Evelyn Lucille Jacobs, 48, a resident of Winnfield for the past 12 years, died at her home in Winnfield at 8:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, 1965, after an illness of several years. She was a native of Franklin, Texas, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. She is survived by her husband, D. D. "Pinkey" Jacobs; three sisters, Miss Pat Buchanan of Baton Rouge, Mrs. James A. Watkins of Winnfield, and Mrs. A. G. Riley of Hamilton, Texas. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, with the pastor, Dr. W. L. Holcomb, and Rev. W. R. Gage officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Pallbearers were Fred Carpenter, Claude O'Bryan, Elmo Frazier, Sam Brian, James Mallard, P. K. Smith, Steve Stephens, Gene Porter, Louie White, and Don Walsh.
