All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 8, 1945 Winn Parish Enterprise Miss Kate Jackson Dies Suddenly At Home In Hargis Miss Kate Jackson, about 70 years of age, died at her home in Hargis at 11 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 1944, following a stroke earlier in the night. Funeral services were conducted at the Hargis Baptist Church of which the deceased was a consecrated member, Wednesday afternoon, at three o'clock. Burial was in the Mars Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Miss Jackson was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Teddlie Jackson of Hargis, and the late Mathew Jackson, both pioneer residents of Winn Parish. She was born near Winnfield and lived all her life in Winn and Grant Parishes. In her young womanhood she was an instructor in the rural schools of this section, and was active in church and civic affairs. Besides her mother, she leaves five brothers, Andrew, Early, Clarence, James, and Robert E., all of Hargis, and a host of relatives and friends in Winn and Grant Parishes.
