Matt Jackson Funeral Held At Mars Hill

Matt Jackson, 65 years of age, and a member of one of Winn Parish's oldest
families, died at his home near Montgomery Sunday morning, June 11th.

Funeral services were held at Mars Hill Monday, June 12th, at 4:00 p.m. with
Rev. Rufus Kitcingham of Monroe in charge.

Surviving are the mother of the deceased, Mrs. Mary Jackson of Hargis; his
wife, the former Nettie McClean (McClain?); one son, Johnny of Monroe; a
daughter, Mrs. Florence Mitchell of Little Rock, Arkansas; a grandson, Jack
Mitchell of Little Rock; a sister, Miss Kate Jackson, and five brothers,
Andrew, Bob, Clarence, Earlie, and Jimmie, all of Hargis.

The deceased was a member of the Hargis Baptist Church and his profession was
that of a farmer in his community.
