All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: May 26, 1966 Winn Parish Enterprise-News American Columbus James, 92, succumbs; rites Monday Funeral services for Columbus James, 92, of Columbia, oldest member of a well known pioneer family in this area, who died Sunday, May 22, 1966 in Riverside Convalescent Home after a long illness, were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Columbia. Interment followed in Old Union Cemetery near Winnfield with Masonic graveside services. Mr. James was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge and was the head of the famous James reunions held in this vicinity each year, as long as his health permitted. He is survived by one son, Jack S. James of Monroe; one daughter, Carrie Jamison, Hot Springs, Ark.; one brother, Mr. J. W. James, Sr., of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Bell Kelly of Winnfield; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Masons of the Columbia Lodge served as pallbearers.
