The funeral was held Sunday, April 23, at the Iatt Cemetery by Sister Wardlow. He was born in Alabama in 1863 and was an active member of the Iatt Baptist Church where he was a deacon. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lou Lasyone James, one brother John James of Pineville, and Mrs. Lora Marker, a sister from Arkansas. By his first wife, Miss Molly Ware, one son, Charlie James, and seven daughters, Mrs. G. P. McManus of Atlanta, La., Mrs. R. F. Albright, Mrs. G. S. Chelette of Goose Creek, Texas, Mrs. C. D. Chelette of Pelly, Texas, Mrs. H. J. Hale of Verda, Mrs. H. A. Erby of Pelly, Texas, and Mrs. J. G. Sigler, Dry Prong. He is survived by 54 living grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
