James, wife of Senator John W. James, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Baptist Church at Columbia, La. Burial was in a family plot near the James home eight miles south of Columbia. Mrs. James died Monday at 5:30 p.m. after a short illness. She was well known throughout the state in social and Eastern Star circles, having served as past worthy matron of the O. E. S. Chapter 147. She is survived by her husband, Senator James; her father, E. D. Blythe of Danville, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Sam Hoss, Alexandria; three sons, Clayton and Clyde James of Columbia, and J. W. James, Jr. in the United States Army stationed at Stamford, Texas, and a brother, Wheatley Blythe, Danville, La.
