Former Resident of Winn Dies In Jonesboro

Funeral services for James David Jeffress, 65, of Jonesboro were held at 3
p.m. Feb. 29 in the Jonesboro Nazarene Church with Rev. Howard M. Smith and
Rev. G. W. Akin officiating.  Burial was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

He died in his home shortly before noon Friday following a heart attack.  He
was a retired Continental Can Corp. paper mill employee, a member of the
Nazarene Church, and a lifelong resident of Jonesboro.  

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Jeffress, and one sister, Mrs. I. J. Allen,
both of Jonesboro.  

Mr. Jeffress was a brother in law of Mrs. F. C. Wren, Winnfield and was a
former resident of Winnfield at which time he was manager of an oil company.
