Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Winnfield with the Revs. Calvin Phelps, Eugene Love, and Charles Haley officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Masonic rites were also conducted at graveside. Mr. Jenkins was a native of Brookhaven, Miss., a veteran of World War I, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, the Kingdom Builders Sunday School Class. He joined the Masons in 1924, was a member of the Winnfield Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, York Rite, Scottish Rite of Monroe, El Karubah Shrine Temple of Shreveport, and served the Masons in many capacities. He was a retired conductor on the T. & G. Railroad. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Allen Jenkins of Winnfield; two brothers, Clarence Jenkins of Winnfield and Warren Jenkins of Doyline; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Boyette and Mrs. Sherwood Whitten, both of Vista, Calif., Mrs. Clara King of Olla, and Mrs. Lavelle Crain of Grayson; four step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Masons served as pallbearers.
