She was 61 years of age. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Mrs. Jennings was a retired welfare worker with the Louisiana Welfare Department (Red River Parish). Mrs. Jennings was a native of Winn Parish. Upon graduating from Louisiana State University she was employed as a professional welfare worker with the Louisiana Welfare Department, Red River Parish. She made her home in Coushatta, Louisiana where she lived until the time of her death. She was for many years a member of the First Baptist Church of Coushatta. Mrs. Jennings was the daughter of the late Ed Mitchell and Mrs. Lula Luther Mitchell of the Wheeling community. She had attended public schools in Winn Parish and graduated form the Montgomery, Louisiana High School. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15 in the First Baptist Church of Coushatta, with the Rev. Jack Shaw, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Winn Parish, near Montgomery. Mrs. Jennings is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anne Marie Davis Forrest of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. V. L. Shelton, Winnfield, and Mrs. E. L. Moss, Springhill; three brothers, Roy D. Mitchell of Amite, Dr. John H. Mitchell of Lafayette, and Dr. Guy C. Mitchell of Waco, Texas; one grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
