THE WINNFIELD-NEWS AMERICAN Friday, June 17, 1938 Joseph Madden Dies At Home of Son Here monday Joseph Madden, age 79, died at the home of his son, J. R. Madden, Monday, June 13, following an illness of several months. Mr. Madden was a native of Forrest, Mississippi, but had made his home for sometime here with his son. He was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Goldonna church conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian and interment was made in the church cemetery there. Pall bearers were his six grandsons, D. Q. and J. R. Madden, Philip, John L. and Curtis Welch of Ferriday, and Jack Pennington. Surviving Mr. Madden are three daughters, Mrs. T. L. Welch, Ferriday, Mrs. J. L. Pennington, California, and Mrs. J. L. Norwood, Detroit, Mich., and one son, J. R. Madden, Winnfield.
