L. Otis Jones Of Grant Parish Dies; Buried At Hargis

L. Otis Jones, 56, of Montgomery, died in an Alexandria hospital April 16.  He
was a former merchant, farmer, and past member of the Grant Parish School
Board.  

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hargis Baptist Church
with Rev. W. C. Powell, Rev. John Melder, and Rev. Charles E. Scott
officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Hixon
Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Acting as pallbearers were Charles Bryant, Johnny Jackson, T. J. Jackson,
Leland Deen, Norman Holliday, and Jim Fletcher.  Honorary pallbearers were
Curtis Jackson and Gary Fletcher.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Viola Buchanan Jones; one son, Ellis Wayne Jones,
Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. Olene Harrison, Montgomery, and Miss Velma Lee
Jones, Winnfield; and two brothers, Dayton Jones of Calvin and Austin Jones of
Dodson.
