Jones, 59, prominent citizen of Dodson, died in a New Orleans hospital Tuesday, following a major operation. The remains were brought to Winnfield early Wednesday morning and funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon. Dr. B. C. Land, pastor, was in charge of the services. Interment was made in the Jerusalem Cemetery. Pallbearers were B. L. Anderson, Bryant Sholars, W. W. Allen, J. B. Milam, Jr., of Ruston, C. F. Walsworth, and W. J. Pyburn of Alexandria. Mr. Jones has been in charge of the WPA commodity warehouse here for the past two years. He went to New Orleans for medical examinations about three weeks ago. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Dodson. He was married twice, his first marriage being to Miss Irene Radescich, who died in July, 1905. His second marriage was to Mrs. Eva R. Swayze, now deceased. Mr. Jones is survived by a stepson, Nelson R. Swayze of New Orleans; his father, T. L. Jones of Dodson; three brothers, W. A. Jones of Oakland, Cal., Ira T. Jones of Waco, Texas, and Lonnie Jones of New Orleans; six sisters, Mrs. A. H. Colvin of Jonesboro, Mrs. John Langley of Montrose, La., Mrs. R. W. Buce of Winnfield, Mrs. W. R. Sharman and Mrs. K. C. Hightower of Ruston, La., and Miss Pearl Jones of Dodson, La.
