Sgt. Dale Jones Killed On New Guinea August 8

Mrs. Jack Stanfield of Winnfield was notified by the war department Tuesday
that her son, Sgt. Dale Jones, 25, was killed in action on New Guinea August
8th.  He and his mother were former residents of Goldonna, La.

Sgt. Jones had served in the Southwest Pacific for twenty-two months.  He
entered service about three years ago and received his basic training at Camp
Shelby, Miss.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jack Stanfield of Winnfield; three sisters,
Ester Jones, a nurse, Hazel Jones, both of New Orleans, and a sister of
Goldonna; a brother, Pharo Jones of Shreveport.
