Last Rites Are Held for Mrs. Mary Ellen Jones

Mrs. Mary Ellen Jones, 82 years of age, of East Winnfield, died at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. C. S. Jones, October 3.

Mrs. Jones was a pioneer citizen of Winn, having moved here from Mississippi,
when but a child.  She was the wife of the late Allison Jones and was an
active member of the Baptist Church throughout her life.

Surviving are three sons, W. C. and W. H., of Winnfield, and W. M. of Dodson;
three daughters, Mrs. C. S. Dunn and Mrs. D. H. Roberts of Winnfield, and Mrs.
E. M. Goleman of Monroe.

She also leaves 33 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and two great-great
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the East Winnfield Baptist Church, Oct. 4, with
the Rev. J. A. Cockerham, assisted by the Rev. Luther Busby and A. E. Buchan
officiating.  Interment followed in the Winnfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, Lee and Sam Dunn, Curtis, Lawson,
and John Jones, and Bill Roberts.
