Johnson of Wheeling Dies Tuesday Last Rites for Prominent Winn Farmer Held Wednesday Last rites for H. C. Johnson, 63, of Wheeling, who died in a Shreveport hospital January 24th, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Mt. Zion Church and cemetery with the Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow and Rev. J. A. Jones officiating. Pallbearers were Lidge Neal, Hershel Hughes, Rayford Fowler, E. B. Maseberg, Clifford Fowler, J. T. Mitchell, J. T. McLamore, and M. L. Wyatt. Mr. Johnson was one of Winn Parish's most prosperous and prominent farmers. He was a native of the parish having been born at Johnson's Bend near St. Maurice. He had been in ill health for some time suffering from a throat trouble. He leaves his wife, who was before marriage Miss Clara Fowler; one son, Earl Johnson and one daughter, Mrs. Clyde Sheffield, a teacher in the Atlanta High School. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ret Harrison and one brother, Ralph Johnson, both of Montgomery.
