Ward 4 Colored Youth Killed In France Feb. 9

Pfc. Leroy "Buster" Joe, 23, colored, was killed in action in France Feb. 9,
1945, according to a telegram followed by a letter of confirmation received by
his mother, Serena Joe, from the War Department last week.

Pfc. Leroy Joe entered services Oct. 7, 1943, and had been overseas since
April, 1944.  He was with the Fire Fighters Eng. Plat., Gen. Patton's Third
Army.

Before entering services he lived with his parents, Edward and Serena Joe in
Ward 4, Winn Parish.  He has a brother, Pfc. Lonnie Joe in France.
