Former Resident of Sikes Dies In Monroe Sunday

Mrs. Essie Johnston, 66, formerly of Sikes, now of West Monroe, died Sunday,
March 15, at St. Francis Hospital, in Monroe, after a brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted at Friendship Baptist Church, near Sikes,
Tuesday, with Rev. Hartsfield and Rev. Clyde Parker officiating.  Interment
was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, Roy Lane Johnston of West Monroe; one daughter,
Mrs. Dellas Wilbanks of West Monroe, two brothers, Alber and Duncan Crain of
Sikes; two sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Womack of Dodson, Mrs. Naomi Adams of West
Monroe, and five grandchildren.

Nephews served as pallbearers.
